With more than 430,000 inhabitants, the city of Palma de Mallorca is the capital of Majorca and the seat of the regional government of the Balearic Islands. The city, and indeed the entire Balearic Islands, are characterized by the service sector. The predominant economic activities are related to the tourism, trade, sports events and media industries.
Palma has a very well-developed public transport network, and the EMT (public transport company) runs buses connecting all parts of the city and the suburbs almost around the clock.

There is a great range of leisure activities in Palma and on the entire island, all year round.
In the winding streets of the old town you will find many shops, restaurants and cafes. The boulevards Paseo del Borne and La Rambla, as well as the pedestrian area of the old town, are a delight for shoppers. For night owls, the party area in the Playa de Palma is very easy to reach by bus.
The possibilities for sports enthusiasts are almost limitless: miles of running tracks directly on the sea and routes developed for both road and mountain bikes can be found in and around Palma, as well as sports fields and gyms. There are currently 22 golf courses on the island.
There are various leisure and sports activities organized by and for our students, such as: football, beach volleyball or fitness to balance with your daily study routine.

If you have statutory health insurance, you should be covered in Spain, too. If you are privately insured, please clarify in advance whether you are covered by the insurance policy while in other EU countries. The medical care in Palma is very good and meets international standards. Many hospitals offer translation services in a variety of languages
EMT, the public transport company, runs buses connecting all parts of the city and the suburbs of the capital almost around the clock. Live timetable information and fares can be viewed online in English or in German. Within the city centre itself, a lot is within walking distance.
Many students use a bicycle or a scooter. However, free parking is not available in the vicinity of the academy.
Trains and coaches connect Palma with many other places on the island.
Palma is easy to reach from most airports in Europe. Almost all airlines offer numerous connections throughout the year. For instance, you can reach the airport of Palma from all over Germany in an average of two hours.
